About the Show

The 24 Hour Plays at SOU is a formerly annual Honors College-led event that was cancelled for the past two years due to COVID-19. It is, as the name suggests, a 24-hour long event wherein a group of writers stays up through the night working on creating a group of short plays, that are then rehearsed the next day and performed that evening, all over the course of 24 hours. This is an exciting and unique live entertainment event that provides great experience for student writers, directors, and actors. We are motivated to take it on in order to create new opportunities for these artists, especially in the wake of so many events being cancelled the last few years.

The 24 Hour Plays have brought extraordinary artists together to create time-limited theater around the world since 1995. Each show is entirely different than the last, although the concept is always the same: actors, writers, directors and producers come together to make new short plays in only 24 hours. We hope you’ll join our partners for another unforgettable night of theatre!
