Honoring The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals Class of 2007 

SINCE 2001, stars from Broadway, film and TV have gathered to write, rehearse and perform new plays in 24 hours. Extraordinary artists race the clock, forge enduring creative partnerships and leave everything on the stage in a singular evening of live theater. This year’s event will honor the artists of the inaugural Nationals class of 2007.

The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals began in 2007 and the artists from that class have moved through the entertainment industry, both individually and together, utilizing the skills they learned and the relationships they built during their time in the program. The inaugural class helped create a model for how creative communities can collaborate and succeed together, and this year’s The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway will honor them and all the work they’ve accomplished and inspired.

Proceeds from The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway support our non-profit activities throughout the year, including education programming with students from middle school to college, professional development for emerging artists through The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals, and our partner productions all around the world.

Writers scheduled to participate include Douglas Lyons (Chicken & Biscuits), Josh Koenigsberg (“Orange is the New Black”), Mario Correa (Dark Waters), Meredith Scardino (“Girls5eva”), Rachel Bonds (Jonah) and Steve Yockey (“The Flight Attendant”).   

Directors scheduled to participate include David Auburn (Proof), Isaac Butler (Brooklyn Babylon), Pippin Parker (Betrayed), Satya Bhabha (“Shameless”), Sherri Eden Barber (Hamilton), Victor Malana Maog (Her Portmanteau).

Special appearances by Colin Cosell (voice of the NY Mets) and Vinny DePonto (Mindplay).
