The 24 Hour Plays have a long history in LA. Our first show on record was in 2O00 at The Los Angeles Theater Center. In the two plus decades since, The 24 Hour Plays have brought both plays and musicals to The Broad in Santa Monica, The Bourbon Room in Hollywood and The United Artists Theater at Ace Hotel Downtown, among many others.

In 2023, to raise money for the Entertainment Community Fund during the WGA and SAG/AFTRA strikes, we piloted a daring two-theater model at The Hudson Theaters, where casts perform in two separate spaces with the audience switching at intermission. The show was a smash, and we’ve returned to the Hudson with this model for multiple sold-out shows.

Whether plays or musicals, one theater or two, The 24 Hour Plays: Los Angeles regularly bring our trademarked style of rapid-response theatermaking to LA’s vibrant community of artists from film, television, theater, music and comedy. With operations on the West Coast expanding every year, Los Angeles has become a second home for The 24 Hour Plays.
