The 24 Hour Musicals

Four original musicals in one day.
After The 24 Hour Plays’ first decade, we decided writing, staging, memorizing and performing new plays in 24 hours simply wasn't challenging enough — and The 24 Hour Musicals were born. Adding composers, lyricists, music directors, choreographers and a live band, this intimate off-Broadway event features marquee talent up close and personal for musical theater's most ambitious high-wire act.
Launched in 2006 with a “secret show” (featuring a musical by the late great David Rakoff), The 24 Hour Musicals have become a staple of the New York theater season. From SNL's Rachel Dratch as a musical theater star to Jake Gyllenhaal singing a love song by Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay-Abaire in quarantine to John Mulaney belting showtunes in a diaper as "Baby Onesie,” The 24 Hour Musicals are a madcap night of theater, where anything is possible.
