FAQs

So everything is written, rehearsed and performed in only 24 hours?

That’s right! The participants meet on Zoom on Monday night for the first time, where they share a prop, costume and something they’ve always wanted to do onstage. The writers stay up all night, and by the following morning the shows are cast and rehearsals begin. Besides a few breaks for food, they’re rehearsing until the moment you see them on screen at 8 pm.

Is the performance live?

Yes! One time only, you’ll see your favorite stars live on-screen from their homes to yours.

What do I need to livestream the performance?

All you need is an internet connection and a screen. You’ll receive a link via email a few hours prior to the performance to watch live. Stream to your computer, phone, or anywhere you can open a link.

Will the plays be appropriate for kids?

We usually suggest 14+. There are no content restrictions put on the writers.

I cannot attend the show but I still want to support. What can I do?

That’s mighty kind of you! This year, we’re raising support for the robust year-round programming of The 24 Hour Plays. You can donate here.

You just announced my favorite star! Can you guarantee that they will be in the show?

We hope so! But we can never guarantee it. Our participants are here to celebrate The 24 Hour Plays. We do our best to lock in as many people as we can. You’re on the right site for the most up-to-date casting information though! So stay tuned.
